From: "Ian! D. Allen [CGL]" <idallen> If I have a MANPATH=standard:x11, then life is fine as long as rmand is running somewhere. If rmand becomes inaccessible, then I'm still okay for the x11 man pages because the new MAN command is smart enough to look under /software/x11/man. But there is no /software/standard/man, so none of the /usr/man pages are visible. Okay, so I set the standard MANPATH=standard:x11:/usr/man, and now almost everything works even if rmand dies. Except now, if rmand is alive, "man -k date" gives me one list of stuff for "standard" followed by an identical listing for "/usr/man". Is there a better way to do this?
