scott@opus.UUCP (Scott Wiesner) (07/21/84)

Lets hear some support for Bill the Cat!

cas@cvl.UUCP (07/24/84)

Yeah, Bill the Cat!!

He couldn't possibly be worse than Reagen or Mondale.
Heard about any good third parties latly?

My wife wants to vote for Bill the Cat, but will not unless she can
be assured that such votes are counted and listed along with the
other minor candidates. This brings to mind a gripe I had regarding
this area. Some years ago, I tried to find out how many people
had voted for "Pat Paulsen" and for the other such "irregular"
write-in humorous or bizarre candidates. I could not. Digging through
the reference material in the main St. Louis public library would
disclose no more detail than an "other" category.

Does anyone out there know where the real and detailed vote counts
for national elections can be found? I want something that breaks
it down to listing ALL the minor party candidates, and any write-ins
who get at least 10 votes or so. (I suppose there are a bunch of
people who write in their own name; that's who should be listed
as "other"!) I would think that there would be many political
scientists or sociologists who could use such data for research
or theses; it must be available SOMEWHERE! But where?

But Bill the Cat is dead, that means that the vice-presidential
canidate will assume the office. And you know what that means!!!!

Let's hear it for our next President!!

Foo! If you do that, they'll just claim you gave them a mandate.

Too many nitwits like Reagan get elected because people want to vote for
the Winner, not caring who the winner is or what (s)he stands for. Let's
all leave our egos at home this November, taking only our collective
conscience to the polls.

qwerty@drutx.UUCP (JonesBD) (08/07/84)

Maybe you should consider that others consider Walley and the Beaver to be
a matched set of tax and spend liberal nitwits.

To those of you who flamed me for my comments in the first RE:RE: - I let my
keyboard go before engaging in rational thought. I would like to appologize
for the sexist slur in the article. I agree that it does not belong on the
net, and I will refrain from putting anything like that on the net in the
future. Again, my appologies.

<Hi,bug>
Instead of all this talk of tax increases, how about an across the board
10% spending cut, exempting possibly only those below the poverty level.
Its interesting how the politico's seem to feel its easier to anger ALL
the taxpayers than anger a few special interest groups.
