From: zar%xhmeia@cit-hamlet.arpa Thank you all for answering. Now that I know how a file is stamped with a U.I.C., I am beginning to wonder why this (awful) method is used. Many of you have stated that it is helpful in setting up project directories (and this is indeed helpful). What people haven't discussed is the word "owner- ship". I, foolishly, assume the owner is the person that originally created the file. But it seems |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| has redefined the word to mean the controller of the file (aha - "CONTROL" - a new protection code). I don't really care now that I've read and seen documentation about this horrid change, but I would like to see it in the release notes and I would like to see the word "owner" replaced with "controller" in all the documentation.
