It has been brought to my attention that I accidentally violated the charter of my own newsgroup by posting an announcement of a new group in an alternate heirarchy (in this case, Bionet). The charter does say that this group is only for newsgroup proposals relating to the "mainstream" USENET heirarchies of news, comp, sci, soc, rec, misc and talk. To avoid future flame wars and requests to post announcements of groups in other heirarchies or even on other networks (e.g. In Moderation, ClariNet, etc.) I will now state explicitly that only proposals for groups in the mainstream USENET heirarchy will be accepted for news.announce.newgroups. I apologize for any confusion caused by my slip. --Greg
