I have noticed a rash of messages arriving in the news.announce.newgroups
mailbox that are obviously intended as votes or comments to the vote-taker.
This is caused by brain-damaged news software which replies to the Path:
field instead of From: or Reply-To: . (For news admins: if you are running
B news 2.11.anything, compile your news software with INTERNET defined, and
then place a path to your nearest Internet forwarding site in the
"mailpaths" file for correct operation of replies).
Unless you are sure that the news software on your machine is configured
as recommended above (or is some software other than B 2.11 which does not
use "Path:" lines for replies), please explicitly mail votes to the vote-taker's
address rather than replying to the call for votes article. I do not have
the time to hand-forward votes to vote takers nor to acknowledge mis-mailed
votes.
