[Newsgroup creation guidelines require a 14-30 day discussion period before
 a call for votes can be issued. There has been no discussion of this 
 proposal that I have seen.   --moderator]

              For the creation of SOC.CULTURE.IRANIAN

 This is the first call for votes for the creation of "soc.culture.iranain".
 The voting period will be until December 31st, 1989.
