This is a call for votes for a newsgroup "comp.sys.laptops," for discussion of laptop-style personal computers. A call for discussion was sent out quite some time ago, mid-October, I believe; I am rather tardy in getting around to running the vote. It was announced in news.groups at that time, as well as several of the comp.sys.* groups which have fragments of such discussion. Comments were almost uniformly positive during the minimal discussion that took place; opinion is that comp.sys.handhelds is not appropriate due to its leanings to the calculator contingent. To vote, reply to ONE of the addresses in the Reply-To: line above. Observe that this means you'll have to strip one of them out; be careful how you respond. The vote will run from today, 6 December 1989, until 5 January 1990. I do not intend to ACK individual votes, but I will probably perform a weekly mass-ACK based on a "grep From:" of the vote-receiving files.
