From: *Hobbit* <AWalker@RUTGERS.ARPA> Sounds like the mistake here was to rebuild the fragmented disk from an /image backup. You'll get all the randomly scattered blocks right back again. If you do a regular [read slow] backup and use the filesystem, you should win... each file will be recreated one at a time, and contiguous space [ya hope] allocated for each. If the files already on the pack are corrupted, this may or may not recover your data, but the resultant pack should be usable. _H* -------
