The BSD diff appears to have some incorrect pathnames compiled into it. % which diff /usr/bsd43/bin/diff % diff -r /bsd43 /bsd43 /n/barney/pkg2/umips-v/mips53.4.0/bsd43/bin/diff: No such file or directory /n/barney/pkg2/umips-v/mips53.4.0/bsd43/bin/diff: No such file or directory % strings /usr/bsd43/bin/diff | head -5 Infinity "wJ1N /n/barney/pkg2/umips-v/mips53.4.0/bsd43/usr/lib/diffh /n/barney/pkg2/umips-v/mips53.4.0/bsd43/bin/diff /bsd43/bin/pr Evidently it's trying to exec the wrong thing. Indeed it is broken, but we found it too late to fix the release, but early enough to fix the documentation.
