Does anyone here have any opinions on the ruggedness of MIPS M120 boxes? I'm involved in a project which might entail setting up such a machine in Northern Africa, and I'm starting to canvass for opinions on such issues as: o tolerance for temperatures beyond "normal" machine room and North American office limits o durability of power supplies; ability to survive "sour power" with lots of "small" spikes ("small" = not filtered by your average cheapo power bar, though I hope we can provide better filters) o how reasonable is it to expect that someone who's able to (say) build Heathkits can carry out hardware service up to and including swapping the main system board? Also, I'd like information on the same questions with respect to peripherals usually added to the M120, such as serial cards, SCSI disks, and 8mm tape backup units. Please e-mail me directly, and I'll post a summary to the net if there's enough interest. Thanks.
