[comp.sys.mips] X server crashes

richard@aiai.ed.ac.uk (Richard Tobin) (03/09/90)

Twice in the past two days the X server process has crashed on my
RS2030 - once while bringing up a twm menu, once while running a
remote XView program. It left a core dump, but I can't do much with
it; dbx says:

 Corefile produced from file "Xmips"
Child died at pc 0x4894b8 of signal : Segmentation fault
 reading symbolic information ...
warning: /usr/bin/X11/Xmips has no symbol table -- very little is supported with out it

I hate to sound like some money-grubbing service puke, but...
