I need to find out what version of Micro-VMS is required to run on a uVAX-II processor. All uVAX-IIs I've had my hands on have been running 4.2x (field test version). We just received and installed our upgrade kit to convert our uVAX-I to a uVAX-II. We then proceeded to try to roll in our uVMS-4.0 distribution by booting standalone backup. But standalone backup complains about invalid CPU type. The upgrade kit contains an 8 user liscense key for uVMS 4.1M. We never bothered to bring up 4.0 on the uVAX-I. Are we going to have to reassemble the uVAX-I, make sure uVMS is fully up to date, and then build a new standalone backup? Any other ideas? Also, how many people have gotten a 4.2 kit (for either VMS or uVMS) and what experiences have they had. "Art Berggreen"<Art@ACC.ARPA> P.S. uVAX-IIs with QBUS to UNIBUS adapters seem to work fine. VMS *currently* only supports an 18 bit QBUS (only uses first 496 of the uVAX-II's 8K QBUS map registers). ------
