Recently we purchased a software package that does performance timings. After porting, a brief test pointed out that Mips RISC/os 4.50 does a <lf> line feed before a <cr> carraige return. The vendor's software was written to specifically look for the reverse (which we all believe to be the normal case). The vender feels this is a Mips bug. You should note, this package has been ported to maybe 20 other platforms, and all other systems are reverse to Mips. We have not yet looked into the tty driver to see where the choice of order is being done, but it is suspected to be some artifact for their streams tty implementation. Has anyone else noted problems due to this quasi-non-standard character ordering, and if so what have you done about it? Hey Mips, did you know about this? -- == Mark Warren Bull HN Information Systems Inc. == == (508) 294-3171 (FAX 671-3020) 300 Concord Road MS820A == == mwarren@granite.cr.bull.com Billerica, MA 01821 ==
