[comp.sys.mips] reading Enet traffic in promiscuous mode

sandrock@aries.scs.uiuc.edu (Mark T. Sandrock) (09/11/90)

I would like to run a program called "snoop" on our M/120 system, but it
requires the ability to read link-level Ethernet traffic in promiscuous mode.
Apparently SGI has several special protocols called: snoop and drain which
support this type of Ethernet access.

So, the question is: Does RISC/os have (or will it ever have) a similar
capability?

Thanks in advance.
