[comp.sys.mips] can't boot M/2000 over net

gamiddle@maytag.waterloo.edu (Guy Middleton) (10/15/90)

I want to install an OS upgrade on our M/2000, but the tape drive isn't
working.

So, I tried booting via ethernet:

>> boot bfs()/filename

It sez:
no cmc controller at 0xbcde00000

Does anybody know what's happening? Is there some way to find out what the
correct address would be?

The problem is that newer M/2000 systems (and all RC3260 systems shipped so
far) use the Interphase Eagle, not the CMC ENP-10. Try:

boot bfs(,egl)/filename
