I'm seeking suppliers and prices for an extra SCSI disk (>600MB) for my Magnum 3000. I have an expansion cabinet so don't need power supply. To keep life simple, I prefer a disk that Mips supports. A look in etc/disktab (RISCos 4.51) suggests that my choice is limited to a CDC 94191 (663MB) and a CDC 94601 (1GB). I assume that these are Seagate disks and that the 663MB one is a Wren V or VI. Old specs I have from Imprimis though don't use the same model numbers. It is very important that I have precise information as to model numbers and specs because State law prevents me from just going out and buying one. Instead I have to get our purchasing office to obtain bids. (Recipe for disaster!) I would also appreciate comments on the new 1GB disks. Are the wrinkles ironed out? I am happy to hear from anybody who has installed other SCSI disks on their Mips machine and also from anybody with a Wren runner, though I would need two of those to satisfy my requirements. Please e-mail. I'll summarize if there's interest. -- Paul Bickerstaff Internet: pbickers@neon.chem.uidaho.edu Physics Dept., Univ. of Idaho Phone: (208) 885 6809 Moscow ID 83843, USA FAX: (208) 885 6173

The 1.05GB is Seagate # ST41200N. greg pavlov, fstrf, amherst, ny
