I've been asked to post this article for a friend, hopefully it makes sense. His installation is upgrading to VMS 4.2 and some of the news going 'round in this group pertained to problems encountered. So far I've only seen 2: 1. using a tapedrive as the distribution medium, and 2. math rtl (something about 'read crunchers in F77'). As soon as his upgrade is done, I'll summarize to the net with the problems and/or experiences. I think this is helpful (especially the problems) in forseeing and preventing troubles for others doing upgrades. The only request I have is for those in net-land to please reply to me (or post if you think it can't wait for the summary) with any good/bad info regarding the upgrade. As I said before, I'll summarize to the net when this is over with. Thanks for reading this, Olga A. Faco Bellcore in South Plainfield, NJ US MAIL: Olga A.
