Has anyone been able to configure XMAN to work with the manual pages subdirectory system on MIPS machines ? I mean, is there some way to get Xman to show the sections for the 4.3BSD Manual Pages ? It only seems to accept subsections of the sort man[1-9][nlo].

The "Sections" menu is created by examining a file called mandesc in the man directory. You can provide your own mandesc file (and a few magic symbolic links) to setup the man pages any way you like. For instance, here is the mandesc file for xman on the ESV (which uses the R3000): no default sections A(1) User Commands B(1) User Commands C(2) System Calls D(2) System Calls E(3) Subroutines F(3) Subroutines G(4) Devices H(4) Devices I(5) File Formats J(5) File Formats L(6) Games M(7) Miscellaneous O(8) System Administration P(8) System Administration X(X) User X Clients Y(D) Development Kit -- Rich -- ``Read my MIPS -- no new VAXes!!'' -- George Bush after sniffing freon Disclaimer: I speak for myself, except as noted.
