There is a bug in the time-of-day chip handler for certain MIPS
platforms (i.e. m2000, 6280) which causes the following problems:
During a non-leap year:
(1) Clock starts gaining 144 seconds per hour on 3/1 (GMT)
(2) If system is rebooted on 3/1, the date will jump forward
one day.
(3) If system is rebooted after 12/31 (i.e. in the new
year while running over year end) the date will jump back
one day.
These problems will be fixed in the next release of the OS. In the
meantime, the root user can use the "date" command to reset the
current date in order to recover from the above problems.
