1) In our M/120 expansion cabinet, there is a disk drive in the bottom slot, and in the slot above there is a thing that looks like this: - it's a flat metal plate about 5" x 6", 1/8" thick - mounted on standard mounting bracket (like that used for the disk) - screws onto mounting bracket with 4 1" posts - says "Caution hot surface avoid contact - bottom of plate has a ribbed metal cylinder glued onto it - the cylinder plugs into one of the 4-lead power plugs like those the disk plugs into What is it? 2) I need to obtain some extra mounting brackets. Anyone have a non-MIPS source for them? (Or a MIPS part number?) -- Paul DuBois dubois@primate.wisc.edu

There are 2 different vendors used for the power supply(Acme and Unpower) in the expansion pedestal. When the Acme power supply is used and there is only 1 peripheral in the expansion pedestal, an additional load is needed for the the +5 volts. If you add an additional peripheral or the pedestal has more then 1 peripheral in it, the load plate assembly should be removed. |> 2) I need to obtain some extra mounting brackets. Otherwise, the mips part number for just the bracket is 92-00128. |> -- |> Paul DuBois |> dubois@primate.wisc.edu -- MM MM I PPPPP SSSSS Jim Bergman MIPS Computer Systems,Inc.
