To improve the performance of a cluster it is suggested that one move the page and swap file to a local disk if you are running on a common system disk. Llama

This isn't going to offer immediate information, but since no one else mentioned it, I thought I would... DEC really has made a determined effort to get performance information out to the VMS user community. The VMS performance and cluster performance sessions at DECUS have consistently been considered among the best forums of information that DECUS has to offer. The people who really know what there is to know (remember that as clusters are relatively new, there may not be that much data to go on yet) are there. It would be nice if there were more accessible info (especially to new VMS sysmgrs), but at the time the current manual set was written I doubt that DEC knew enough about cluster performance to put detailed guidelines on paper. In any case, if you can, by all means get to a DECUS symposium! Especially if you want performance information. The next one is December in Anaheim, Ca. See you there. /Kevin Carosso engvax!kvc @ CIT-VAX.ARPA Hughes Aircraft Co.
