I am forwarding this for a friend. Replies should be directed to him at DEGROOT%HWALHW5.BITNET@WISCVM.ARPA If an operator issues the command: $ REPLY/STATUS he gets information about pending requests. It would be nice to have that information in a file in order to enable a command procedure to do some checking on the requests. Does anyone out there know how to direct REPLY messages to a disk file. I know that playing with logical names will allow one to enable some other terminal than your own as an operator terminal. Perhaps it can also be done for a disk file in some way. Todd Aven

Ever looked at the file OPERATOR.LOG in SYS$MANAGER:? It's a transcript of every action OPCOM takes/processes. On a cluster it even containts part of the node init dialog that is done during startup and never get's printed. (the OPCOM's get together and decide to have a party, until one of them "dies".. Fun bunch or programs..) You can read it as long as you fool RMS into giving you access to the file... (a familiar concept...) -Ron Jarrell VA Tech
