The VMS V4.2 Math Library bug that has been reported in INFO-VAX is a known problem. MTH$DEXP (D_floating exponential), when passed an argument less than -88.5, should return zero but instead overflows. This problem will be corrected in a future maintenance update to VAX/VMS (probably V4.3). Because of the severity of this problem, a correction kit has been made available to Digital software specialists. If your specialist is unaware of the fix, have him/her contact their support group. As a general reminder, whenever you feel that there is an error in Digital software, please use the software support services which are available to you (SPR, Telephone Support Center, etc.). This will ensure that Digital developers are made aware of the problem as early as possible. Steve Lionel
