The story on the math routine bug in version 4.2 is clear now thanks to Steve Lionel. However there's one thing I don't understand at all: some one claimed that re-installing PASCAL after installing VMS V4.2 "fixed" this bug. How? If the bug was in a common math routine why does PASCAL do anything to this? Does PASCAL installation fix it just for PASCAL programs or for any one? Furthermore, why does PASCAL have to be re-installed? The installation notes on VMS V4.2 say pains were taken to insure that layered products would not have to be reinstalled. We have PASCAL but I'm hesitant to trust this "fix". I would feel better getting the real fix from DEC but that will take time. Any informed advice? Thanks. Rg -------
