In response to a question asked by sameer@hpcuhc.HP.COM. My answer is that getting a student account varies from college to college. Some colleges require that you take a computer course in order to get an account, some don't. Here are my experiences: At the University of Pittsburgh, I just went to one of the computer labs on campus and asked for an account. All I needed was proof that i paid my bill. I didn't need the account until the next year , but i wanted to learn how VAX works at Pitt. When i transferred to Bronx Community College in NYC, there were no accounts since there was WILBUR. So i went to one of the professors in the Business department and asked . he said yes. At City College, you have to have a computer course in order to get an account. but if you know somebody, they can try and get you an account. To conclude, I think that you should go to one of the computer labs and ask. Also one of the reasons some schools make you go through red tape is because the school has to pay for the time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- S.M.
