[news.newusers.questions] Question about mailpaths/maps

I do not presently have the program(s) to create the database for mailpaths
(which, given a site name, will give you the full pathname to get to it).
I DO, however, receive comp.mail.maps and can pull off the archives at will.

Question: is there any way to do some manual searching to build a uucp path
          back to a backbone site without concatenating all of the individual
          maps into one file and doing multiple searches until you arrive
          at a backbone site?
