[news.newusers.questions] USENET ACCESS

gomer@unix.cis.pitt.edu (Richard J Coyle) (09/23/89)

access this net from the Univ of Pittsburgh system, which is available to
all students and faculty. I'm not a computerologist, but I do enjoy the
various newsgroups that I read. However, I am contemplating leaving the
university and going into private practice (don't tell my chairman yet!)
and wonder if there is some way to access the net if I don't have a
university account here. Is there a commercial way to do this? Or are
there any public BBS systems that somehow would let me do this?
I'd appreciate any information that is available. Feel free to
respond by mail. Thanks in advance.

Check out the nixpub postings that just appeared on comp.misc.
They list public access sites all over the country you can
dial into from your personal computer. Many of them offer
the full Usenet.
