[news.newusers.questions] How to access archives

mellman@cbnewsd.ATT.COM (thomas.mellman) (09/22/89)

Can somebody tell me how to go about accessing any of the archive
sites around? I'm looking for a copy of a wonderful program I got
off the net in 1986 (at another site) called "wm()" for Window Manager.
I know there are sites that archive the "sources" newsgroups, but how
do you find them and how do you access them? I don't have access to
TCP/IP - it's got to be UUCP.

Most (all?) of the source group moderators post a list of archives
periodically. Also, the newsgroup I moderate, comp.archives, is
specifically for listings of archives. Once a month I post a list of
archive sites in my database, along with information on accessing the
database.
