morris@jade.jpl.nasa.gov (Mike Morris) (11/01/89)

Let's say that I go on vacation, and come back and soc.smurfs has
544 unread messages in it. How do I cancel, let's say, 520 of them
so I can read the 24 ?

If this was covered recently, please excuse...

At the group prompt type in the number of the first article you want to read.
then enter:

	?.?h:j

This will search backwards and junk all previous articles. If you want them
back you can use ?.?rh:m -- marks as read all articles prior to the one you're
currently reading.
