There's a call for discussion on a new group, soc.religion.eastern, that I wanted to respond to. The posting just said, don't send me email, post your discussion. But, the announcement didn't make it clear where to respond (post) to for comments... Old-time netters probably know (is there a newsgroup for newgroups discussions?), but I don't. -kmc

In fact, there should have been a "Followup-To" line in the header, forcing the issue. -- David Bedno aka davidbe@sco.COM: Speaking from but not for SCO. Is talk.lists a good idea? Following up the article from your newsreader (rn,vnews, etc.) will usually go to the right place automatically -- either all the groups the announcement was made to or, if there is a Followup-To line, to the group(s) named in the follow-up line. > But, the announcement didn't make it clear where to respond > (post) to for comments... Old-time netters probably know > (is there a newsgroup for newgroups discussions?), but I > don't. In this case there was a Followup-To: news.groups news.groups is used to discuss -- what else? -- newsgroups (their creation, renaming, and procedures for creating them), USENET philosophy, forgeries of net.personalities, and fish. -Dan uunet!ashtate!dveditz dveditz@ashtate.A-T.com
