Is there a way of posting to local newsgroups at other sights? In particular I'm interested in local newsgroups at other colleges and universities (the equiv. of the newsgroups here of the form "uc.*") Can I just post directly to those names? If not, what else does one need?; and if so, how can I find out their names (one can guess *some* of them) Thanks, Harel B.

I got a response from the AT&T host saying that crossposting between public groups and private AT&T groups was not allowed. (Their local groups must be at.* also, although I would have expected att.*) So I'd say give it a try. As to finding the names, there's probably no way to find out short of asking someone at the site in question. You could try mail to the postmaster or root, or read news until you find someone from that site and then send them mail and ask them. -Dan | uunet!ashtate!dveditz Vote NO on moderated 'talk' groups. | dveditz@ashtate.A-T.com
