I'm sorry, I should've mentioned that this is under VMS V4.1. Dunno yet if it's gone in 4.2, I'll have 4.2 up on the machine in question in the next week or so. Other machines don't seem to make good test beds for this bug since they don't have anywhere near the UUCP traffic "engvax" has and the detached process in question is part of our VMS UUCP system. It's not directly related to the number of spawns, since in one case it died on the 329th spawn and in another case after only 64. I am thinking of getting a process dump and see if it can capture anything. Does a process dump capture P1 space? I've used it to debug wayward images before, but not DCL.
