No I don't want to forge, so you can cap that flamethrower. I dial in to a serial port on a Sun workstation. The Organization: line in the header is not accurate. Also there are Cc: and Bcc: lines I'd like to eliminate, as well as Sender:, since it's always the same as From: In perusing the man pages for rn (my only docs) I see the references to a ORGANIZATION environment variable. I tried setting it, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. rn sees a change in term, so I'd think it would see a newly defined variable? And I didn't see any mention of the others I mentioned above. I'm not an experienced unix user, so please don't reply RTFM, as I have very limited manuals to read - and they aren't SunOS, or even Berkely. Part of the "problem" is that everyone doesn't run the same "rn" program; rn is distributed in source form, and has many, many options that can be chosen when it's built. The command set is consistent, KILL files work the same way, but how headers are handled can differ. In this case, you'll have to ask your news administrator. If you *are* the news administrator, you'll have to look at the code and configuration options to see what's really going on. Saying "it works for me" doesn't do much, other than let you know it's POSSIBLE. -=EPS=-
