Articles around here expire in 10 days. Being such a busy young executive, sometimes I don't get thru reading my 20 or so favorite groups found at the top of my 800 line .newsrc. In the back of my mind I fear my netnews amigos' golden words of wisdom might be expiring unread whilst I snooze. It would be quite keen-o if one of you chaps had a little program that sent the user mail to the effect 'Uh, "Yo, pal": best get reading rec.toilet.tissue fast: 4 articles are going to expire in 2 days' etc. I had personnaly applied the old brain-sky to this, but came up with a cpu-muncher of a program that didn't do the job. (not that it should matter: my newsreader: rn. [Can't use GNUS here yet.]) Hopefully your program will be simple enough that one wouldn't fear one's .newsrc was in jeopardy using it, etc. No need to whip up one just for me, too. Oh, do write also if you post, as like I said, James will be driving me to the Club for the weekend, and I might not have time to check in in netnews.
