[gnu.misc.discuss] Commercial GNU support maybe available soon

rob@violet.berkeley.edu (Rob Robertson) (08/27/89)

at a party not long ago i met someone in the process of getting
capital up to start a GNU support company. that is a company that
would provide preconfigured BINARY distributions of GNU products for
various architectures, and support (telephone, documentation and
regular updates). the company would be for profit, but along the
FSF guidelines, that is all the software / bug fixes would be given
back to the GNU project.

think of it: shrink wrap GNU software.
