Could someone clarify for me the relationship between Stepstone Technology, developer of Objective-C, NeXT, and FSF's GCC. There has been some talk of FSF incorporating some sort of Objective-C support into GCC, but does this mean a GNU Objective-C preprocessor? The Objective-C compiler/translator is a product of Stepstone Technology that I believe NeXT is bundling with the NeXT Machine. Certainly they could use GCC as a C compiler backend, but what changes need to be made to GCC to support Objective-C? A view of the bigger picture would be appreciated since I haven't read the "NeXT Book". Shaun Shaun M.
