Dd: This seems a very narrow view of what is being discussed. My
Dd: view of what is being discussed is how GNU Emacs works, how it
Dd: compares to other editors, what things it does well and what
Dd: things it does poorly. I have learned a lot about how to use

I think that the discussion split into two parts; a description of what
emacs was doing, and what it ought to do in the future. The former is
probably within the scope of this list, but the latter is definitely not.
Mind you, I'm not sure that possible enhancements fit neatly into the bugs list
(at least, not until they're implemented).

If gnu.misc.discuss hadn't been invaded M-DEL taken-over M-DEL Liberated In A
Just Cause by a bunch of rabid righties, I would have thought that that would
be right place to discuss this sort of thing. Maybe when they get fed up,
they'll go and play somewhere else (Frying pans in sci.aquaria? :) Who knows,
maybe people will stop arguing about how evil libgnu.a is, and start working
to achieve it :-/

Dd: First, when they impose on me by posting the nth foobar.el
Dd: package that I'm not interested in, I don't complain. That takes

I thing there is definitely a need for a gnu.emacs.lisp-code, or something
similar. As well as making it easier to find the stuff you want, the list could
be set up to automagically add Copylefts to everything gets sent through. This
would prevent situations like the recent rash of hasty corrections.
Len?

Dd: to find something interesting and useful, and just when something
Dd: interesting does come along you try repeatedly to shut it off.

The bug list is gatewayed into gnu.emacs.bug. You can follow the thread there.
