Equipment: VT240 connected to a DZ-11 on a VAX 780 @ VMS V4.1 Problem: An application program we run (similar to mail) has the feature of beeping every time you hit return to scroll to the next page of a message you are reading. Is there a way of stopping the ring-bell character from reaching a terminal?? i.e set term/no_ring_bell ?? Another way might be to send an escape sequence down to my VT240 to set it in "no warning bell" mode but I don't think that's possible since I didn't see it mentioned in the VT240 manual. Manually setting the terminal to "no warning bell" every time is not practical. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.. Peter Canadian Microelectronics Corporation Queen's University, Kingston Ontario
