[plplplplplplplplplplplpl --- for the line eater, consider this self directed] Two items here, first an apology, then a new group proposal: It appears that I was a little premature in shooting my mouth/CRT off. This morning, while reading the news, I got to net.sources and found quite a few non-source articles. Several had nothing at all to do with sources. This brought home the point that Pat Iurilli was trying to make, plus something pointed out to me by one of the staff here, (many people archive net.sources.) I still beleive that there is less harm (space) done by a few requests than by numerous repostings of long listings, but there is no need for many, many non-source articles in net.sources. So, it appears that I should follow these rules (I usually do, but sometimes I slip up): 1) Be sure Brain is engaged before shooting off EMACS. 2) Problems should have a solution proposed rather than just pointing out that there is a problem. Now for the proposed solution (it's about time.) How about a new group, net.sources.wanted. I realize that this won't keep people from putting non-source onto net.sources, but it should help. So, as penitence for allowing my stupidity/ignorance/naivete to show, I will log onto the (gak!!) VMS system for at least two hours a day and I will attempt to do something useful with it (well, semi-useful anyway.) -- Russell Shilling { allegra, ihnp4, seismo }!scgvaxd!muddcs ===== plplplplplplplplplplplplplp =====
