Why hasn't anyone suggested asynchronous, dynamic DECNET to solve this problem? Doesn't it work? We have managed to get asynch., static, DECNET to work, but haven't tried the dynamic variety. Marty Sasaki

Uh - what 'zackle is dynamic DECNET? I got async Decnet to work between a 785 and a 730; it was pretty easy once I figured out what "TX-0-2" meant... Gack! _H* -------

Dynamic (I think that's the word) DECNET is where you do a set host/dte and call out to another host. Then you issue a magic incantation (I don't remember what it is) which changes the line into a DDCMP line with DECNET running across it. DECNET does it's thing and the connection remains until you issue another magic incantation. I don't know if it works. Marty Sasaki
