I got a copy of ANU news software from the archives at uunet and I am trying to install it. (One problem with the archives, the software is version 5.9, but the documentation is version 5.8) Unfortunately, I seem to be missing some of the control files needed for installation. These files are: NEWS.SYS NEWS.DISTRIBUTION MAILPATHS NEWSSKIM.COM NEWS_ADDRESS.CNF NEWS_POST.DEFAULTS NEWS_POST.CC NEWS.ALIASES Could somebody please, please, mail me skeleton copies of these files? I lack ftp access to get it from other places. Some of the files, I can guess and deduce the format from the source code, but others, I can't. I assume that my installation is failing because of these missing files. It fails with the error message: %RMS-E-FNF, file not found %RMS-F-IFI, invalid internal file identifier (IFI) not found Thanks in advance. P.S. I seem to have two news groups, "news.software.anu" and "news.software.anu-news" on my Unix system. I assume that news.software.anu is defunct, right? If not, you will see two copies of this message.
