I am attempting to install ANU News on my Vax. It seems to work quite well locally although I haven't tested it thoroughly and haven't ironed out some problems with priveleges. However, my main problem is in trying to get it to work with a remote NNTP server sitting on a Sun Unix system . I have V5.9 ANU News and V1.5.6 NNTP. I make ANU News talk Decnet to the Sun. On the SUN I have Sun's DNI software to talk Decnet. I wrote a small program that runs on the Sun to pipe data from TCP/IP NNTP into the Decnet. After debugging, I discover that ANU News is issuing commands that my version of NNTP does not support. Some of the commands are: XUPDGROUP YCMND Morever, XHDR command fails. I must have the wrong NNTP software, right?
