[news.software.anu-news] bad performance with NNTP & CMU TCPIP

Try monitor proc/topcpu on the NNTP server. If IPACP is taking a lot of time
you dont have the modifications for NNTP_TCPCMU that I submitted to Geoff. They
should be in 5.9B.
     
I allready noticed the trouble in the spring but had didn't have the time to
make the modifications befor this fall. That trouble was that write_net (used
to write data tothe socket) wrote every single output line out with the PUSH
bit set so IPACP sent a line in one packet. I rewrote write_net to buffer the
data. i thin this should be done also in the other TCP/IP implementations and
also on the dcnet channel.
