I have a little problem with V5.7 (vms 5.1-1). The news arrive as batch files, which are known to be well-formed, and the poor computer spends half the night unpacking them. Then the log file sometimes (now! :-( ) looks like this: Add <foo@bar> rec.pets: JUNK (Input file is empty) Add <foo@bar> junk: REJECT (Input file is empty) and so on. The percentage of vanished items varies between, say, 50%-100%. There are usually several hundred items in junk. The surviving items are placed in random groups with random subjects. Questions: is (was) this a known problem in 5.7? will NEWS behave well if I "upgrade" to 5.9B? 5.9A? 5.9? is the latest version of news available for FTP somewhere? (preferrably in a _BACKUP_ saveset or unpacked, tar doesn't like me) Thanks for anything. Please mail your answers, otherwise they may end up in alt.flame.. -- Daniel Berglund (foperator@tekno.chalmers.se, BITNET: FOP@SECTHF51) Chalmers University of Technology, G|teborg, Sweden
