[news.software.anu-news] Help needed with DEFINE/KEY....

pv9y@vax5.cit.cornell.edu (Adam C. Engst) (02/26/90)

Hi,
I'm trying to redefine some of the keys in ANUNEWS and having
limited luck. I've defined the logical name NEWS_INI and have
placed in the appropriate file (news_keypad.defs) a line that
    looks like the following...

       DEFINE/KEY PF4 "SKIP /FOLLOWUP"

Now the problem is that this key is defined correctly except that
news requires me to hit return after typing PF4. I would rather
that the return was included, as it is in all the defaults. Also,
    what is the key_name for GOLD-PF4 (GOLD-PF4 doesn't work)?
Basically, I'm tired of typing GOLD-PF4 for SKIP/FOLLOWUP, which I
use all the time, and would prefer to not occasionally miss and
type PF4 which is SKIP/NEWSGROUP. Reversing the two is the name
ofthe game. Thanks a lot and please email if possible, because I
don't particularly read this group. Thanks.......

       DEFINE/KEY PF4 "SKIP /FOLLOWUP"/TERMINATE

will do it for you.

What you want is

	DEFINE/KEY PF4 "SKIP/FOLLOWUP" /TERMINATE

and

	DEFINE/KEY PF4/IF_STATE=GOLD "SKIP/NEWSGROUP" /TERMINATE
