Hey!  That's what the Japanese TRON project is all about:
networking common houseold appliances so you can defrost a
turkey in your microwave using the interface of a remote
control/television screen and cool stuff like that.

I want to redesign the standard household three-prong AC
plug with a fiberoptic port so that every electronic device
power supply can have a Transputer built in.
