DCIEM is preparing to contract for the production of a gateway to connect one or more RSX-11M and RT-11 systems that run DECNET over an Ethernet with UNIX systems that are linked by UNET (from 3-Com). The gateway has to handle remotely initiated transfers in the manner of uucp, and communication like pipes and signals among concurrent processes (it is expected that MASCOT networks will eventually be executing across the gateway). UNET runs the DOD TCP-IP protocols. Is anybody aware of a gateway that performs the desired functions?
