All you Love-Hounds out there in L.A.  --  I'm looking for a good record store 
in the Los Angeles area. Perhaps IED may have some suggestions.

My definition of a good record store: Carries imports, does special orders, 
generally has a good stock of alternative stuff etc...

Try POOH-BAH RECORDS on Walnut St, Pasadena.
On the West Side of town, there's RECORD SURPLUS on Pico near Barrington,
but they're mainly used records (including Rarities) & I dunno if they'll
special order.
