[rec.music.gaffa] Poor Cassette Quality on TSW

I would like to repeat myself again and reinforce AnDy's statement that
the cassette quality of CBS Records in general and TSW in specific is
piss-poor.

I have a copy of the promocassette and, as I had mentioned, it has al-
ready begone to develop the characteristic "scritching" noises of the
reels...blah!

I encourage all to purchase CD or vinyl!

(Of course, the scritchy-sounds are the result of playing the album about
ten times a day, as my roommate will attest to! But in all seriousness, if
it was an EMI tape, for example, it would still be doing fine - hell, my
HoL tape is still here - though the label has rubbed off!)

Yeah, get the CD because otherwise you won't get "Walk Straight Down
The Middle." And if you miss this track, then you might as well kill
yourself because it's probably the best track to come out of the TSW
sessions so far. I suppose you could get the vinyl if you bought the 12"
single of TSW as well, but "Walk STraight..." sounds so luscious on
CD. Thanks to IED for those lyrics, btw -- I would _never_ have guessed
that the first couplet is "can't move my arms / can't move my legs"...
This gets my vote for most slurred kate phrase ever.
