< ... ___ ... ... ___ ... > This is a followup to my request for info on radio-link modems. I found the following in "Canadian Office": Nelma Data Corp. demonstrated its "Black Magic" wireless local data communications network at the recent Canadian Computer show (article from Dec '83/Jan '84 issue). The radio modems transmit and receive digital data signals asynchronously via the UHF FM radio frequency. The low powered, economical devices can communicate with up to 250 other devices within a typical office environment, receiving and transmitting data at up to 9600 bps within a radius of 100 to 200 meters, depending on the office building environment. The units simply plug into any standard RS-232C communications port. Wonderful! Exactly what I was looking for. Hope this is of use to someone out there...... -- From the pooped paws of: Suk Lee ..!{decvax,linus,allegra,ihnp4}!utcsrgv!spoo
